Report: Raul to retire in summer

A report claims that former Real Madrid forward Raul, who is currently with Al-Sadd, will retire from professional football at the end of the current season.

Former Real Madrid forward Raul will reportedly retire from professional football at the end of the current season.

The 36-year-old, who played for Los Blancos between 1994 and 2010, currently represents Al-Sadd having moved to the Qatari outfit from Schalke 04 in 2012.

According to El Confidencial, this will be the former Spanish international's final campaign in professional football as he prepares to step into coaching.

Earlier this afternoon, former Real Madrid sporting director Jorge Valdano tipped the striker for a future managerial role at the Bernabeu.
