Real Madrid have reportedly made a formal offer for Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek.
The La Liga giants are currently assessing their options in the transfer market as they contemplate an approach for Manchester United's Paul Pogba.
However, Zinedine Zidane and club officials are aware that there are cheaper alternatives to the World Cup winner, who may cost in the region of £150m.
According to AS, that has resulted in Real upping their interest in Van de Beek after his impressive campaign for Ajax on both the domestic and European scene.
The Dutch outfit allegedly value the 22-year-old in the region of £58m, although it is unclear whether Real are prepared to pay that much for the Netherlands international.
The report adds that Van de Beek is currently keeping his options open at a time when he wants to continue earning regular first-team football.
