Real Madrid have reportedly highlighted their alternative options after failing in their Kylian Mbappe pursuit, with Rafael Leao and Darwin Nunez on the list.
On a positive note, having been unsuccessful at bringing Mbappe to the Bernabeu, that has left Los Blancos with a reported £200m to spend this summer and no salary cap issues.
Benfica striker Nunez netted 34 goals in 41 appearances this season, while AC Milan winger Leao also had a productive year, registering 14 goals and 12 assists in 42 appearances for the Serie A champions.
According to Marca, the Spanish champions will show interest in Robert Lewandowski and Harry Kane this summer, but believe Nunez and Leao could be a better fit playing alongside Karim Benzema.
Carlo Ancelotti's side have already strengthened defensively by securing Antonio Rudiger's services from Chelsea, while they are also in the market for defensive midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni, who has reportedly agreed terms with the club.
This campaign has been Nunez's best in terms of goals scored and the same can be said for Leao, with both 22-year-olds on long-term contracts with their current clubs.
