Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema has acknowledged that he is interested in signing a new contract.
The Frenchman has enjoyed a hugely successful period at the Bernabeu, scoring 259 goals and winning 18 trophies since his arrival in 2009.
Benzema's contract is currently due to expire at the end of the 2021-22 campaign, a time when he will be six months short of his 35th birthday.
However, the veteran has admitted that he is open to extending his stay at Los Blancos past the conclusion of next season.
Speaking to reporters at a press conference, Benzema said: "I go day by day. I enjoy every training session, every game.
"I have a contract until 2022 but my door is open if the president wants to renew me. This is the best club in the world."
Benzema has contributed 20 goals and five assists from just 29 appearances in all competitions since the beginning of September.
