Anzhi Makhachkala sporting director Roberto Carlos claims that the club are not interested in signing Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo.

Anzhi Makhachkala sporting director Roberto Carlos has insisted that the club are not interested in signing Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo.

It has been suggested that Ronaldo could depart the Spanish capital at the end of the season, but Carlos has quelled reports that the Russian club could make a move.

"Lots of people have asked me whether Anzhi are after Cristiano Ronaldo. I haven't come here to sign Cristiano, though," he told Marca.

Carlos retired from professional football in March.
