Barcelona have made plans to sign Bayer Leverkusen's 19-year-old midfielder Florian Wirtz in the summer of 2023, according to a report.
The Germany international was enjoying a successful campaign in the Bundesliga before suffering a serious knee injury back in March, which is likely to rule him out of action until around November this year.
Despite this, the Catalan side are looking to make a move for Die Werkself's youngster at the end of the 2022-23 season according to Fichajes.net, with Barca pushing ahead with plans to improve Xavi's squad in the present and the future.
However, despite Wirtz revealing that he has a desire to play for the La Liga outfit one day, the report suggests that Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Juventus all hold an interest in the attacking midfielder too.
After signing a contract extension at the BayArena towards the end of the 2020-21 campaign, the teenager still has four years left on his current deal at the German side.
Before his injury, Wirtz made 24 Bundesliga appearances for Leverkusen this season, scoring seven goals and registering 10 assists, whilst also appearing four times for Germany following his debut in September.
