Atletico Madrid have reportedly made a £46m bid for Real Madrid attacker James Rodriguez.
Diego Simeone's side have been strongly linked with a move for the Colombia international, who is back at the Bernabeu following a two-season loan at Bayern Munich.
Marco Asensio's long-term knee injury had led to suggestions that Rodriguez would be needed at Madrid during the 2019-20 campaign.
However, according to TeleMadrid, Atletico are determined to land the South American in this summer's transfer window, with a £46m bid now being submitted.
Earlier this week, Los Blancos boss Zinedine Zidane conceded that he was unsure whether the 28-year-old would still be with the club at the start of September.
