Carlo Ancelotti: 'Cristiano Ronaldo not joining Bayern Munich'

Bayern Munich boss Carlo Ancelotti says that it would be 'almost impossible' for his new club to bring Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo to the Allianz Arena.

Bayern Munich boss Carlo Ancelotti has conceded that it would be 'almost impossible' for his new club to bring Cristiano Ronaldo to the Allianz Arena.

Ancelotti enjoyed a close relationship with Ronaldo while the pair were together at Real Madrid, and it had been claimed that the Italian would make an ambitious bid to land the Portuguese international in this summer's transfer window.

The experienced manager has hailed Ronaldo's "professional attitude", but admitted that it would be "very hard" to sign the 31-year-old.

"I love Ronaldo's professional attitude," Ancelotti told Bild. "Journalists often ask me how difficult it is to work with players like him and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but it is really easy.

"You don't have to tell these kinds of players anything. They are very disciplined and focused. Something can always happen in football, but it is very hard to see a player like Ronaldo at another club."

Ronaldo could reportedly be out of action for the next 'four to five months' after picking up a knee problem while representing Portugal in the Euro 2016 final on Sunday night.
