Result: Real Madrid 3-0 Villarreal

Karim Benzema, Kaka and Angel Di Maria score before the break to secure all three points for Real Madrid against Villarreal.

Real Madrid moved into second place in the La Liga table with a 3-0 victory Villarreal in the Bernabeu this evening.

All three of Los Blacos's goals came before the break, with Karim Benzema and Kaka putting them two goals to the good within the opening 11 minutes.

Argentinian winger Angel Di Maria added a third in the 31st minute to seal the win before the interval.

With the points secure, Jose Mourinho's side showed little interest in extending their lead after the restart, while visiting Villarreal failed to create any goalscoring chance of note.

Madrid have now won five consecutive matches in the Spanish top flight.
