Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo were both on the scoresheet as Real Madrid beat Elche 2-0 in La Liga on Sunday.

Both goals came in the second period, with the victory seeing Los Blancos move four points clear at the top of the table. Elche, meanwhile, remain 17th, four points outside of the relegation zone.

ELCHE

Goal

Przemyslaw Tyton: Could not do much with either of the goals, while he made some excellent saves, especially in the first period. Can be pleased with his performance on a personal level. (6/10)

Defence

Damian Suarez: Caused some problems when he broke into the final third, but the Spaniard had a couple of poor positional moments when Real Madrid started to turn the screw. (6/10)

Enzo Roco: Found Ronaldo difficult to contain early on, but grew as the match progressed. A little untidy at times, but nothing majorly wrong from the centre-back. (6/10)

David Lomban: Made a host of excellent blocks during a strong performance at the heart of the defence. It might have been a more comprehensive scoreline but for the Spanish defender. (7/10)

Edu Albacar: Picked up a booking for a poor challenge on Bale early on, but did well to stay focused and remain on the pitch. Used all of his experience in the second 45 minutes. (6/10)

Midfield

Aaron Niguez: Put in a hard-working performance in a wide area, but should have been sent off in the second period for a really poor challenge on Gareth Bale. (4/10)

Mario Pasalic: Had a couple of half chances, but could not find the back of the net. Worked ever so hard, but needed a little bit more from those around him. (6/10)

Adrian Gonzalez: Was one of his side's best players in the first period as Elche frustrated the visitors, but the Spaniard found it tougher when the tempo increased. (6/10)

Faycal Fajr: Would have been the player tasked with supporting Jonathas, but the attacker found it really difficult to influence the match against a dominant Real Madrid. (5/10)

Victor Rodriguez: Had his side's best chance early in the second half, but saw his goalbound effort saved by Iker Casillas. Looked bright in possession of the ball. (6/10)

Attack

Jonathas: Has been quite comfortably Elche's best player this season, but the Brazilian, who certainly has goals in him, lacked any real service on a frustrating evening. (5/10)

Substitutes

Garry Rodrigues: Brought some excitement to the home supporters with a couple of dangerous runs, but the winger's end product was disappointing. (6/10)

Rafael Galvez: Replaced Pasalic for the final 15 minutes and looked neat and tidy. (6/10)

Cristian Herrera: Given the final 10 minutes alongside Jonathas, but like a number of his teammates, the Spaniard struggled to make his mark against the league leaders. (5/10)

Goal

Iker Casillas: Had an untidy moment in the second period when he dwelled on the ball, but made a smart save from Victor and looked comfortable between the sticks once again. (6/10)

Defence

Dani Carvajal: Quickly emerging into one of the best right-backs in world football. Was not really tested, but he remained focused throughout the 90 minutes. (7/10)

Pepe: Another really strong display from the Portuguese, who seems to finally be maturing. Did not put a foot wrong as he dominated play from the back. (8/10)

Raphael Varane: Enjoying a run in the team due to Sergio Ramos's injury and the Frenchman is getting better with each passing match. Another composed performance here. (7/10)

Marcelo: Scored a stunner against Schalke last week - could not repeat those heroics, but still had a very solid evening down the left for the visitors. (7/10)

Midfield

Lucas Silva: Only his third appearance for Real Madrid and first league start, but the Brazilian looks right at home. Another classy performance from the midfielder. (7/10)

Isco: Man-of-the-match display from the Spaniard, who set up Ronaldo for Real Madrid's second of the match. Was absolutely everywhere during a wonderful performance. (9/10)

Toni Kroos: Could not add to his one Real Madrid goal despite a good chance in the second period, but it was another typically strong performance from the German. (7/10)

Attack

Gareth Bale: Got through plenty of work in the final third, but did not have too many chances. (7/10)

Karim Benzema: Was denied an excellent first-half goal by the offside flag, but netted in the second half from close range. Worked extremely hard and deserved his reward. (8/10)

Cristiano Ronaldo: Hit the post early on and looked frustrated in the first period, but popped up with a stunning header late on. Now has 38 goals for the season. (8/10)

Substitutes

Asier Illarramendi: Replaced the impressive Silva after 84 minutes and slotted into central midfield with relative ease. Looks increasingly likely that he will be allowed to leave this summer. (5/10)

Alvaro Arbeloa: Only given the final three minutes of action. (5/10)

Jese Rodriguez: Had barely 10 seconds on the field. (5/10)
