Real Madrid's James Rodriguez: 'I have ideal relationship with Zinedine Zidane'

James Rodriguez talks up his relationship with Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane, despite suggestions that they could have parted ways earlier this summer.

James Rodriguez has backed himself to have a productive season under the guidance of Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane.

Speculation persisted over Rodriguez's future during the summer transfer window after the playmaker had completed a two-year loan period at Bayern Munich.

However, despite being linked with Atletico Madrid and Napoli, the Colombia international remained at the Bernabeu, and the 28-year-old is happy to be back working with the manager of Los Blancos.

Rodriguez is quoted by Marca as saying: "I think that a lot of people knew that I wanted to stay here. I think I can have a good season and achieve important things.

"With the support of the boss that I have at the moment, it will happen. I have an ideal relationship with Zidane."

Rodriguez has made a total of three starts in La Liga and the Champions League during the current campaign.
