Xabi Alonso returns to Real Madrid training

Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso returns to training ahead of tonight's Champions League quarter-final first leg against Borussia Dortmund.

Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso has returned to training ahead of tonight's Champions League quarter-final first leg against Borussia Dortmund.

The Spanish international missed training on Monday ahead of the European tie at the Bernabeu, with reports claiming that Los Blancos could be without the services of the playmaker.

However, Alonso was present in their official session on Tuesday afternoon, quelling fears that the experienced midfielder would not be available.

Luka Modric also took part in the session after missing the 5-0 win over Rayo Vallecano at the weekend through illness.
