How Real Madrid could line up against Getafe

Sports Mole looks at how Real Madrid could line up in Tuesday's La Liga clash with Getafe.

Real Madrid will be aiming to record their 14th La Liga victory of the 2020-21 campaign when they welcome Getafe on Tuesday night.

Zinedine Zidane's side recorded a 2-1 win over Huesca on Saturday to return to second position in the table, seven points behind leaders Atletico Madrid, who now have two games in hand over their rivals.

Los Blancos could be back in third by the time that they take to the field for this contest, though, as Barcelona would move above them with a success over Real Betis on Sunday evening.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Madrid could line up against Getafe.

Madrid will again definitely be without the services of Rodrygo Goes, Federico Valverde and Eden Hazard on Tuesday through injury, while Toni Kroos is suspended due to the booking that he picked up against Huesca.

Sergio Ramos has undergone a knee operation, meanwhile, and the club captain, who has still not signed a new contract, is expected to be out of action until April.

Los Blancos also still have doubts over the availability of Dani Carvajal, Lucas Vazquez and Isco, while Alvaro Odriozola was forced off the field on Saturday due to a muscular issue.

Eder Militao's return from suspension will ease the team's problems, though, and Nacho could switch across to right-back if Carvajal, Vazquez or Odriozola are unable to prove their fitness in time for the match.

Kroos's absence could open the door for Marcelo to feature in midfield, but Zidane might ultimately decide to hand a debut to 20-year-old Antonio Blanco, who has been on the bench twice in La Liga this season.

There are not expected to be any surprises in the final third, though, with Vinicius Junior again likely to be given the nod alongside Marco Asensio and Karim Benzema as part of a front three.
