Gareth Bale "perfectly fine" following knock

Real Madrid attacker Gareth Bale insists that "everything is fine" amid suggestions that an ankle knock would keep him on the sidelines.

Real Madrid attacker Gareth Bale has played down fears that he could be facing a period on the sidelines after injuring his ankle in Sunday's 0-0 draw at Sporting Gijon.

The Welshman was sent for tests after picking up a knock during the La Liga clash and it had been suggested that he could miss this weekend's home match against Real Betis.

Bale, however, who continues to be linked with a move to Manchester United, has said that "everything is fine".

"Everything is fine, I underwent tests this morning just to be certain and we saw that it was just a knock. There's nothing to worry about, I'm perfectly fine," Bale told reporters at a sponsorship event.

Bale played in a central position for Real Madrid against Sporting Gijon.
