How Real Madrid could line up against Atletico Madrid

Sports Mole looks at how Real Madrid could line up in Saturday's Madrid derby with Atletico Madrid.

Real Madrid will look to bounce back from Wednesday's 3-0 defeat at Sevilla in La Liga when they welcome Atletico Madrid to the Bernabeu on Saturday night.

Los Blancos would have gone top of the division with a point against Sevilla, but were second-best by a considerable distance at the Estadio Ramon as they lost for the first time in the league this season.

Real have also lost three of their last five home La Liga matches with Atletico - failing to win in the process - and there is huge pressure on Julen Lopetegui's outfit to collect all three points in front of their own supporters.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how the European champions could line up at the weekend.

Possible RMA XI vs. ATL

Out: Marcelo (hamstring), Isco (appendicitis)
Doubtful: Dani Carvajal (muscular)

Real Madrid will certainly be without the services of both Isco and Marcelo, with the former recovering from appendicitis and the latter suffering a hamstring problem against Sevilla last time out.

Dani Carvajal, who has missed the team's last two matches, is also a doubt with a muscular problem, which is expected to see Alvaro Odriozola and Nacho start in the full-back positions.

Further forward, Luka Modric, Casemiro and Toni Kroos were out of sorts against Sevilla, but all three should keep their spots. That said, Dani Ceballos impressed off the bench at the Estadio Ramon, and is an option if Lopetegui wants to make changes amid a busy run of matches.

The absence of Isco means that Marco Asensio will once again join Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema in the final third of the field, with Mariano Diaz and Lucas Vazquez the options from the bench.

Bale and Benzema have seven goals between them in La Liga this term, and will be looking to cause Atletico's study defence problems in the Spanish capital.
