Former Portugal international Paulo Futre backs Cristiano Ronaldo to come good at Euro 2012.

Former Portugal international Paulo Futre has insisted that Cristiano Ronaldo will fire when Portugal meet the Netherlands on Sunday.

Ronaldo, 27, has so far failed to replicate his Real Madrid form at Euro 2012, but Futre has laughed off the criticism.

"I have a lot of faith that Cristiano Ronaldo will make amends for his previous poor displays when he faces Netherlands," the 46-year-old told Record.

"No one better than Cristiano knows that at this Euros, like it has happened in other moments, the spotlight will be on him. And I am sure that he also knew that with every failure, more criticism would come. But this is something normal to him, he is used to this."

A win for Portugal will see them advance to the quarter-finals.
