Edgar Davids: 'Barcelona are full of mythological gods'

Former Barcelona midfielder Edgar Davids backs his former club to triumph in the Champions League this season.

Former Barcelona midfielder Edgar Davids has stated that Barcelona are "a team full of mythological gods."

The 39-year-old also believes that the Catalans will triumph in the Champions League this season, and has not ruled them out of the La Liga race.

"Barcelona are not a normal team, but a team full of mythological gods. They're on another level to all the other teams. They will win the Champions League again," Davids told El Mundo Deportivo.

Barcelona sit six points behind Real Madrid in La Liga, and Davids has claimed that the current Spanish champions will run Jose Mourinho's side close.

"Madrid still hold a comfortable lead, but I believe that the league won't be decided until the last few games. Barca will fight till the end, and a surprise could be in store if Madrid lose another game."

Barcelona face AC Milan in the first-leg of their Champions League quarter-final clash on Wednesday.
