Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe believes that he will win the Ballon d'Or in the future.
The Frenchman was linked with a move to Real Madrid earlier in the summer, but he elected to sign a new contract with PSG where he has began the season in fine form, scoring seven goals in five appearances.
In total, Mbappe has netted 178 goals and provided 88 assists in 222 games for PSG, and as a result of his impressive performances, he believes that he is on the verge of winning the Ballon d'Or.
Speaking to the New York Times, the 23-year-old said: "I think I'm about to win it [the Ballon d'Or]. I always say I dream about everything. I have no limits.
"So of course, like you say, it's a new generation. And Ronaldo, Messi — you're gonna stop. We have to find someone else, someone new."
Lionel Messi is a seven-time winner of the award, while Cristiano Ronaldo has won on five occasions, with Luka Modric the only other player to win the Ballon d'Or since 2008.
While Messi, Ronaldo, Modric and Mbappe are shortlisted for the 2022 Ballon d'Or, Karim Benzema is currently the favourite to win the award.
