Reading will try to maintain their League Cup form when they meet Newcastle United in the Premier League this weekend.

Reading manager Brian McDermott will be hoping to bring his side's League Cup form into the Premier League when they go up against Newcastle United at the Madejski Stadium this weekend.

The Royals managed to secure a spot in the fourth round of the League Cup after coming from behind twice against Queens Park Rangers to claim a 3-2 win at Loftus Road last night.

Newcastle were forced out of the competition by Manchester United but Alan Pardew's men are still progressing in the league following their 1-0 win over Norwich City on Sunday.

Reading are likely to line up with Pavel Pogrebnyak and Adam le Fondre up top, while the Magpies should welcome back Cheik Tiote to Premier League action after returning to fitness this week.

Recent form:

Reading: DLLLW
Newcastle: LDDWL

Possible lineups:

Reading: McCarthy; Gunter, Gorkss, Pearce, Shorey; McCleary, Guthrie, Leigertwood, McAnuff; Le Fondre, Pogrebnyak

Newcastle: Harper; Perch, Williamson, Taylor, Santon; Ben Arfa, Tiote, Cabaye, Gutierrez; Cisse, Ba

Sports Mole says: 0-1
