Nigel Adkins calm over Jem Karacan injury

Reading boss Nigel Adkins insists that the club will not rush Jem Karacan in his return to fitness from a serious knee injury.

Reading manager Nigel Adkins has insisted that the club will not rush Jem Karacan's return to fitness from a serious knee injury.

The 24-year-old midfielder was stretchered off with the problem during the Royals' 1-0 win over Leeds United in the Championship on September 18.

"We'll make sure we get the right diagnosis and then plan of attack," Adkins is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "He'll be out for a while but we'll look after him in a big way."

Reading continue their league campaign on Saturday when they host Birmingham City at the Madejski Stadium.
