Brian McDermott: 'Our season starts now'

Reading boss Brian McDermott tells his players that they now must push on following Wednesday's victory over QPR in the Capital One Cup.

Reading manager Brian McDermott has told his players that their season starts now following Wednesday's victory over Queens Park Rangers in round three of the Capital One Cup.

The Royals came from behind twice to see off their fellow Premier League opponents 3-2 at Loftus Road.

"This is the start for us," McDermott told BBC Sport. "We have to beat this kind of team."

Reading, who are currently bottom of the table and without a win, host Newcastle United in the league on Saturday.
