Reading midfielder Hope Akpan dislocates shoulder while on international duty

Reading's Hope Akpan will be out of action for at least two weeks after dislocating his shoulder playing for Nigeria.

Reading will be without Hope Akpan for at least two weeks after the midfielder dislocated his shoulder playing for Nigeria.

The 23-year-old had to come off during the Super Eagles' Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Congo.

Akpan confirmed the injury on his Twitter page: "Thank you for all the get well soon messages. Dislocated my shoulder in yesterday's game V Congo. Thank God it wasn't anything worse."

He has made 14 appearances for the Royals this season but won't play again until December at the earliest.
