RB Leipzig vs. Mainz 05 (Sunday, 2.30pm)

RB Leipzig kick off their 2020-21 Bundesliga campaign with a meeting against Mainz 05 at the Red Bull Arena on Sunday afternoon.

The hosts finished third in the division last term and reached the semi-finals of the Champions League, while Mainz's less eventful season ended with them in 13th place.

We say: RB Leipzig 2-0 Mainz 05


A Werner-less era begins for Leipzig this weekend and, despite the loss of their all-time record scorer, they still boast one of the division's best squads. Mainz conceded 13 goals without scoring against the Red Bulls last season, and we cannot see past a home win on Sunday.

Wolfsburg vs. B. Leverkusen (Sunday, 5.00pm)

Two of the Bundesliga's big hitters meet at the Volkswagen Arena on the opening weekend of the 2020-21 campaign as Wolfsburg play host to Bayer Leverkusen.

Wolfsburg finished seventh last season and have won-back-to-back games to begin this new campaign, while Leverkusen finished fifth last time out and will be aiming to go one better this term.

We say: Wolfsburg 1-2 Bayer Leverkusen


Wolfsburg beat Leverkusen 4-1 towards the end of last season, but that is just one of two victories for the Wolves in their last nine Bundesliga meetings with this weekend's opponents. Leverkusen may have sold a couple of important players during the summer but they still have plenty of talent in their ranks.
