Two late goals give Rangers win over Falkirk

Rangers score twice late on to beat Falkirk 2-0 in their Scottish Championship match.

Rangers needed two late goals two secure a 2-0 win over Falkirk in the Scottish Championship this evening.

The home side made a bright start to the match as Conor McGrandles tested Cammy Bell in the opening couple of minutes before firing wide shortly after.

Rangers came into the match 15 minutes in, resulting in a shot for David Templeton from the edge of the box, but his powerful effort failed to find the target.

Bilel Mohsni had a chance shortly before half time when he collected the ball from a throw-in, but the defender's effort comfortably cleared the crossbar.

Falkirk continued to test Bell early in the second half when Alex Cooper curled a free kick towards the Rangers goal, but the keeper pushed the ball away on the stretch.

Bell was called into action again from the resulting corner, clearing from David McCracken heading from close range.

Lee McCulloch tried to catch Jamie MacDonald out with a long-range effort, but he scuffed his shot, leaving the keeper with a comfortable save.

The visitors finally managed to break the deadlock inside the final 15 minutes when a deflected Lewis MacLeod shot wrong-footed MacDonald to give Rangers the lead.

Rangers needed just six minutes to double their lead as a cross fell to Nicky Clark at the post to leave him with an easy finish from close range, putting the win beyond doubt for the visitors.
