Dave King to hold talks with Ally McCoist about Rangers future

Dave King says that he will hold talks with former Rangers manager Ally McCoist about possibly returning to the club in some capacity.

Prospective new Rangers chairman Dave King has revealed that he will hold talks with former manager Ally McCoist regarding his future at the club.

The 52-year-old left the Scottish outfit on gardening leave in December 2014 and is serving his 12-month notice following a three-year spell in charge of the team.

Today, it was confirmed that King, Paul Murray and John Gilligan secured an 85% vote by shareholders in an extraordinary general meeting to take control of the club and oust the board.

When asked in today's press conference if McCoist has a future at the club, King told reporters: "In terms of the new manager, you want to take your time and get it right. We'll now need to sit down with Ally McCoist and see what his plans are."

McCoist has been out of work since leaving Rangers.
