Sandy Easdale resigns from Rangers board

Sandy Easdale resigns from his position on the board at Rangers.

Rangers have confirmed that Sandy Easdale has 'amicably' resigned from his position on the club's board.

Easdale, Derek Llambias and Barry Leach were suspended by the club on Tuesday pending an investigation.

However, the investigation referred to yesterday has now been dropped following Easdale's departure.

Rangers have been in the process of trying to remove the trio from their roles at Ibrox Stadium in the wake of Dave King's recent takeover.

"Mr Easdale has agreed to resign from his directorships with the group with immediate effect and he does so wishing the club, its supporters and the new board every success for the future," read an official statement from the club.

"The club thanks Mr Easdale for his co-operation in this changeover and confirms the investigation previously referred to will not now proceed. The club is also happy to confirm that Mr Easdale did not receive any remuneration in respect of the directorships he held with the club."

Former Rangers midfielder Stuart McCall has reportedly been appointed the new manager of the club.
