Stuart McCall appointed Rangers manager?

Rangers are understood to have appointed Stuart McCall as their new manager until the end of the season.

Stuart McCall has reportedly been appointed manager of Rangers until the end of the season.

It is unknown whether current caretaker boss Kenny McDowall will be kept on as part of the 50-year-old's coaching staff at Ibrox Stadium.

New Rangers chairman Dave King recently hinted that he was considering a managerial change at the club.

McCall, who won 11 major honours as a player with the Gers between 1991 and 1998, is now expected to take charge of the side for the remainder of the campaign, according to BBC Sport.

The former midfielder has been working as Gordon Strachan's assistant with the Scotland national team.
