Rangers administrators Paul Clark and David Whitehouse say that the player and staff positions at Ibrox will be reviewed next week.

Rangers administrators Paul Clark and David Whitehouse from London firm Duff and Phelps have admitted that they may be forced to axe members of the SPL champions as early as next week.

The duo claimed that there are currently no fears of liquidation but due to the early stages of the process they remain uncertain on the definitive issues at Ibrox.

Clark said in a press conference: "The immediate task was to get the weekend's game to happen. This morning I spoke to [manager] Ally McCoist and the players and I informed them of the process and told them a review of staffing will happen as part of the process.

"It will be next week at least before anything is decided in this area. We will be making the February payroll obligations in the normal manner and in full."

The pair went on to say: "The reason [tax] hasn't been paid is that it hasn't been sent. They were deductions that were made at source that were fundamentally used to fund the club.

"It's something we need to look into. We have to carry out a full investigation into what has happened but what we can say is that it has been loss-making."

Meanwhile, Rangers owner Craig Whyte announced today that he believes the struggling club will be out of administration next month.
