League One side Swindon Town are reportedly keen to sign Queens Park Rangers striker Andy Johnson on a loan basis until the end of the season.
The 32-year-old has not featured for the R's since September because of a knee injury.
He is now close to making a return to full training, but would be unable to turn out for QPR because he has not been registered as part of their 25-man squad.
That has alerted Swindon, who are hoping that they can secure the former England international's services to help boost their chances of gaining automatic promotion to the Championship, according to BBC Sport.
Any deal would have to be struck by Thursday when the emergency loan window is closed.
