Robert Green's position as first-choice goalkeeper at Queens Park Rangers is said to be under threat, as manager Mark Hughes reportedly aims to bring in former Celtic stopper Artur Boruc as competition.

Queens Park Rangers manager Mark Hughes is reportedly interested in signing former Celtic goalkeeper Artur Boruc.

The 32-year-old, who made 162 SPL appearances for the Scottish champions during a five-year stay at Parkhead, is currently a free agent after being released by Fiorentina earlier this summer.

England stopper Robert Green joined QPR in June. However, following his performance during the Hoops' 5-0 opening-day defeat to Swansea City, his position as the club's long-term number one may be in doubt.

According to The Mirror, Hughes is in talks with Boruc's representatives and is keen to bring the Poland international to Loftus Road to compete with Green for a starting berth.

Aside from the three teams that were relegated, no side conceded more goals than QPR in the Premier League last season.
