Charlie Austin 'pleads with Queens Park Rangers to cut transfer fee'

A report claims that Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin fears a return to the Premier League is off the cards due to his hefty valuation.

Charlie Austin has reportedly pleaded with Queens Park Rangers to drop their £15m asking price for his signature in order to secure a move away from the club.

The 25-year-old has been linked with a number of Premier League teams since the end of last season, including Crystal Palace, Newcastle United and Southampton.

However, all three sides are said to have withdrawn their interest in the Englishman due to QPR's hefty valuation.

A report in The Telegraph now claims that Austin, who scored 18 goals in the top flight last season to earn a call-up to the England national side, has spoken to club chiefs about cutting his transfer fee closer to the £10m mark.

West Ham United and Chelsea are also rumoured to be in the running to land the former Burnley striker.
