Shaun Wright-Phillips: 'Queens Park Rangers can stay up'

Shaun Wright-Phillips is confident that QPR can stay up following Wednesday's 1-0 win at Chelsea.

Shaun Wright-Phillips has claimed that Queens Park Rangers can avoid relegation following Wednesday's 1-0 win at Chelsea in the Premier League.

The winger got the only goal of the game against his former club as QPR recorded their first away victory of the season.

"We needed three points today and having frustrated them we deserved it," Wright-Phillips told BBC Sport.

"The results have not gone our way but the players have defended like that all season. We have never doubted our ability and if we dig deep we will get the great escape."

The rare triumph has left bottom-placed Rangers five points from safety.
