Queens Park Rangers fined for failing to control players

Queens Park Rangers are hit with a £7,500 fine by the FA for failing to control their players during their 2-1 Championship win over Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Queens Park Rangers have been hit with a £7,500 fine for failing to control their players during their recent Championship clash with Fulham at Craven Cottage.

A number of QPR players surrounded referee Lee Mason when he awarded the home side a penalty in the fifth minute of stoppage time at the end of the match after Nedum Onuoha was adjudged to have brought down Jozabed.

The decision proved irrelevant as Sone Aluko's spot kick hit the post and QPR held on for a 2-1 victory, but the club have now accepted an FA fine.

"Queens Park Rangers have been fined £7,500 and warned as to their future conduct after admitting an FA misconduct charge," the FA stated on its Twitter account.

"Club failed to ensure players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion in the 95th minute of the game against Fulham on October 1, 2016."

QPR also released their own statement, saying: "QPR have admitted to the charge and been fined £7,500 and warned as to our future conduct. The club will be making no further comment."

QPR will return to action at home to Reading next Saturday.
