New QPR owner Tony Fernandes has thanked the fans for welcoming him to the club.
The Malaysian entrepreneur took over the newly-promoted side last month and immediately greenlit spending on signings, including new captain Joey Barton.
Last night Fernandes received a welcome reception from home fans as QPR hosted Newcastle at Loftus Road. "Thank you to all QPR fans for a wonderful day," he wrote on Twitter this morning. "You all made me feel very special when you sang my name. Thank you."
Of the result - a goalless draw - Fernandes added: "The players played out of their skin and gave 110 percent. Neil [Warnock] is special. And all the qpr staff you are all amazing."
Speaking after the game, Newcastle boss Alan Pardew conceded that the London side were "the better team".
