Thiago Silva agrees a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain.

Paris Saint-Germain captain Thiago Silva has ended speculation linking him with a move away from the club by agreeing a new contract with the Ligue 1 champions.

The Brazilian has been linked with a move away from the Parc des Princes this summer, with Barcelona reportedly keen on bringing him to Camp Nou.

However, the 28-year-old has negotiated fresh terms with the Parisians in a deal that would keep him in the French capital until 2018.

According to L'Equipe, Silva's new contract will see him pocket an extra £1.8m per year after tax.

Silva joined PSG from AC Milan last summer.
