Paris Saint-Germain "want to keep" David Beckham next season

Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser al-Khelaifi reveals that the club want to extend David Beckham's contract that runs out in the summer.

Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser al-Khelaifi has revealed that the club want to keep David Beckham beyond the summer.

The 37-year-old English midfielder joined PSG as a free agent on a five-month contract in January.

"He's fantastic on and off the pitch," Al-Khelaifi told L'Equipe. "Sometimes you can make a bad choice. But signing David is one of the best decisions we've made.

"As a man, player and ambassador, he's exceptional. He creates something in the squad. Everyone adores him.

"We're going to talk to him. Whatever his decision, we'll support David. He only deserves good things. He's very happy in Paris. Honestly, we want to keep him with us next season."

Beckham has made five appearances in Ligue 1 for PSG so far.
