Napoli out of Ezequiel Lavezzi running

Napoli distance themselves from reports of a return for Paris Saint-Germain forward Ezequiel Lavezzi.

Napoli have distanced themselves from reports linking them with a move for Paris Saint-Germain forward Ezequiel Lavezzi.

The versatile Lavezzi left Naples for the French capital back in 2012 but has been linked with a return to Stadio San Paolo, while Liverpool have also been repeatedly mentioned in connection with the 29-year-old.

Napoli's Sporting director Riccardo Bigon told Sky Sports Italia: "Though we love the player and his qualities, we are well stocked in the attacking department, both in terms of quantity and quality.

"Lavezzi is not a necessity for us."

Rafael Benitez's side are currently third in Serie A.
