Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly open to reappointing Thomas Tuchel as their head coach if they decide to part ways with Christophe Galtier.

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly prepared to consider a reunion with Thomas Tuchel in the future.

The Ligue 1 giants opted to have the German as their boss between August 2018 and December 2020 before a fall out behind the scenes led to his exit.

Before Tuchel's departure, he had delivered two Ligue 1 titles and reached the final of the 2019-20 Champions League, where PSG lost 1-0 to Bayern Munich.

Since then, the 49-year-old has spent time with Chelsea, guiding the club to victory in that competition after falling short the previous year.

Tuchel has been out of work since Chelsea's new owners made the unanticipated decision to sack him in September, allegedly due to differences over transfer policy.

However, Tuchel remains one of the most sought-after managers in Europe and is known to be biding his time for another big job, rather than taking his next opportunity.

Recently, it has been suggested that he would like to manage Barcelona or Real Madrid, the former seemingly being unrealistic for the foreseeable future due to Xavi's impact at Camp Nou.

According to RMC Sport, Tuchel may feature on PSG's shortlist should Christophe Galtier not see out the season at Parc des Princes.

Although injuries have played their part, PSG have lost their last three matches, including defeat to Marseille in the Coupe de France and to Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

PSG still sit five points clear in the Ligue 1 table, but they have recorded just 10 points from a possible 18, also losing to Rennes.

As it stands, it is suggested that Galtier will be given an opportunity to get PSG back on track, there being an understanding that some young players have been blooded in recent matches.

Nevertheless, like it did with his predecessor Mauricio Pochettino, a last-16 exit in the Champions League may lead to his eventual departure, PSG needing to overturn a 1-0 deficit when they travel to Germany for the second leg with Bayern.

Galtier is only tied to PSG until 2024, a factor which may come into consideration when club officials make a decision on his long-term future.
