Preview: Paris Saint-Germain vs. Lorient

Sports Mole previews Friday's Ligue 1 clash between Paris Saint-Germain and Lorient.

Paris Saint-Germain will attempt to return to winning ways when they welcome Lorient to the French capital in Ligue 1 on Friday evening.

The capital outfit, who currently top the division on goal difference, came close to losing their unbeaten league record at the weekend when they fell 2-0 behind to Saint-Etienne.

However, the French champions scored twice in the latter stages to secure a share of the spoils, but newly-promoted outfit Monaco remain on their tails in the early part of the season.

Lorient, meanwhile, moved out of the relegation zone on Saturday with a 2-1 win over FC Sochaux. They are yet to win on the road in the league this season, however, with six defeats from their six matches on their travels.

The corresponding fixture last season ended in a 2-2 draw in August 2011, but PSG were 3-1 winners when they travelled to Lorient in May.

Brazilian defender Thiago Silva remains on the sidelines for PSG, but boss Laurent Blanc has no fresh injury concerns from the draw with Saint Etienne at the weekend.

The Frenchman could make a change in attack, however, with Lucas Moura pushing for a start. Edison Cavani and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who are both in fine form, should also play in Paris.

Lorient boss Christian Gourcuff, meanwhile, is expected to continue with the same team that overcame FC Sochaux at the weekend, where former Arsenal forward Jeremie Aliadiere and Cameroon international Vincent Aboubakar were both selected.
