Jese Rodriguez has insisted that he is not prepared to sit on the bench for Paris Saint-Germain this season.
The Spanish attacker left Real Madrid in the summer transfer window in search of first-team football, but is behind Edinson Cavani in the pecking order at the French champions.
Jese, who signed a five-year contract with PSG at the start of August, has branded Cavani "a great player", but says that he came to Paris "with a desire to play".
"Cavani is a great player, but I am no substitute," he told Le Parisien. "I came here with a desire to play football in every game, although I know there are great players in Paris. I have great character and I like to progress quickly, it's up to me to prove I can be a starter."
Jese is yet to score in two appearances for the French giants this season.
