Preview: APOEL vs. Paris Saint-Germain

Sports Mole looks ahead to the Champions League Group F match between Ligue 1 winners Paris Saint-Germain and Cypriot champions APOEL.

Paris Saint-Germain will be hoping that they can maintain their lead in Group F of the Champions League when they travel to Cypriot champions APOEL on Tuesday.

The Ligue 1 champions, who drew with Ajax on matchday one, took control of the group last time out by beating Spanish side Barcelona 3-2 to move a point clear.

Laurent Blanc has a number of injury concerns heading into the match, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic having sat out their 3-1 win over Lens on Friday, and David Luiz also a doubt.

Thiago Silva could play a part after returning to action following a hamstring injury, while Edinson Cavani will be available, despite his sending off in the league. Yohan Cabaye could be rested after picking up a knock.

Meanwhile, APOEL will be looking to build on the 1-1 draw with Ajax in their last European outing.

Like PSG, the hosts have a number of players nursing injuries heading into this tie, with Nuno Morais seeking specialist treatment in Serbia for ongoing back and hamstring problems.

Winger Stathis Aloneftis has also been sidelined recently, missing league matches as well as Cyprus's Euro qualifiers against Israel and Wales, but he could return this week.

Summer signings John Arne Riise and Rafik Djebbour could be ready to come into the side after working on their fitness levels during the international break.

These two sides previously met in the 1993-94 European Cup Winners' Cup, when PSG secured a 3-0 win on aggregate.
