Bury goalkeeper Trevor Carson has extended his loan deal at Portsmouth until the end of the season.
Carson was originally due to return to Gigg Lane on New Year's Day, but Pompey were keen to keep hold of the 25-year-old, who has made 17 appearances since arriving at Fratton Park in October.
"I'm delighted and it feels like a weight off my shoulders," Carson told Portsmouth's official website. "Now I can just concentrate on playing well for Pompey.
"Hopefully we can continue to stay unbeaten for a few more matches and start looking up the table rather than down it."
Portsmouth begin 2014 just four points above the relegation zone in League Two.
