Philadelphia Union confirm Zat Knight interest

John Hackworth confirms that Philadelphia Union are interested in signing Zat Knight from Bolton Wanderers.

Philadelphia Union manager John Hackworth has confirmed that the Major League Soccer side are interested in signing Bolton Wanderers defender Zat Knight.

Trotters manager Dougie Freedman played down speculation linking the centre-back with a move away from the club, though Hackworth says there have been talks.

"Truthfully, we have been in some conversations [with Knight]," the 44-year-old is quoted as saying by mlssoccer.com. "At the same time, we are looking at a lot of different countries and have vetted out many different centre-back options."

Knight has made 137 appearances for Wanderers since joining the club in 2009.
