Jamie Ward close to Nottingham Forest switch?

Nottingham Forest are close to signing ex-Derby County man Jamie Ward, according to a report.

Nottingham Forest are reportedly close to signing former Derby County forward Jamie Ward on a free transfer.

The 29-year-old is a free agent after the Rams decided to not offer him a new deal.

It appears that the Northern Ireland international will now join Derby's fierce East Midlands rivals after leaving the iPro Stadium.

Ward has been in advanced talks with Forest and underwent a medical on Tuesday, according to the Derby Telegraph.

The report adds that he is set to agree an initial one-year deal at the City Ground, with the option to extend it by a further 12 months.

Ward made 148 appearances for Derby, scoring 34 goals, after joining them from Sheffield United in 2011.
