Billy Sharp has revealed that he will remain on loan with Nottingham Forest for the remainder of the season.
Recent reports had claimed that his parent club Southampton may opt to recall him during next month's transfer window.
However, the 26-year-old has insisted that no such recall clause exists in the deal that took him to the City Ground during the summer.
"When I signed for the season, I wanted some stability. So I didn't want there to be a clause where I could be recalled in January," he told the Nottingham Post.
"The owners have said that they do want to buy me. But a lot has to happen. They have to ask Southampton first, for a start.
"But I am here for the season, at the very least, because they cannot recall me in January. I did not want that clause to be in the deal. I did not want any interruptions."
Sharp has scored eight goals in the Championship this season.
