Nottingham Forest are said to be the frontrunners to sign free agent Eric Lichaj.

Nottingham Forest are reportedly planning to swoop for former Aston Villa defender Eric Lichaj.

The American is a free agent after being released by Paul Lambert's side at the end of the season, and has attracted interest from several clubs, Sky Sports News reports.

Lichaj joined Villa as a trainee in 2008, making 42 appearances during his career at Villa Park, 23 of which were last season.

The full-back is seeking first-team football to boost his chances of securing a World Cup place with the USA next year, with Forest believed to be the frontrunners to secure his services.
