Rangers striker Jason Cummings to return to Nottingham Forest?

Jason Cummings's permanent move from Nottingham Forest to Rangers is cast into doubt.

Nottingham Forest striker Jason Cummings could reportedly return to the club when his loan deal at Rangers expires at the end of the season.

The Scotland international was tipped to make his Ibrox switch permanent this summer, having impressed north of the border, but according to the Nottingham Post, this will only happen if Graeme Murty remains in charge at the Glasgow giants.

Murty's future at Rangers is uncertain, with Gers chairman Dave King so far offering no indication whether the head coach will be offered a fresh deal in the summer.

"Graeme Murty was again thrust into an extremely difficult situation and continues to provide the stability and progress that we need at this time," King is quoted as saying. "Graeme can be proud of what he has achieved so far.

"However, on the managerial front I emphasise that the board fully recognises the need for sustained stability in this area of the club.

"Whoever is appointed must be able to meet the unique challenges of managing Rangers and ensuring immediate success. It is a priority that we commence next season with the best appointment we can make and that we move forward rapidly."

Cummings, who is under contract at Forest for another two years, has scored six goals in 13 games for Rangers.
