Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Alan Hutton on an emergency loan deal until Wednesday, January 2.
Hutton has fallen out of favour at Aston Villa under Paul Lambert and has completed a short-term move to the City Ground in search of first-team football.
The Scottish international will be available for nine Forest matches and has been described by Forest chairman Omar Al Hasawi as a "big asset" to Sean O'Driscoll's squad.
He told the club's official website: "Like most of the signings we have made, Alan brings great experience to our squad.
"He has played at the very highest level and will be a big asset to us over the next six weeks."
Hutton goes straight into contention to make his Forest debut this weekend against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
