Nottingham Forest have reportedly taken former Cardiff City striker Nicky Maynard on trial.
The 28-year-old is a free agent after being released by the Bluebirds at the end of last season, with injury having restricted him to just 26 appearances during his three-year spell with the Welsh side.
Maynard has Championship experience, netting 45 times for Bristol City in the second tier before joining West Ham United in 2012.
Forest boss Dougie Freedman is said to be looking to bolster his striking options, with club-record signing Britt Assombalonga sidelined for several months with a knee injury.
According to the Nottingham Post, Forest have taken Maynard on a two-week trial.
Maynard has also been linked with Leeds United.
