Nottingham Forest have confirmed the signing of Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic.
Having wheeled and dealt to a certain extent before the end of June in order to comply with the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules, Forest have been able to take a more measured approach to their business since then.
Goalkeeper Carlos Miguel has been acquired from Corinthians, while there have been lengthy negotiations in order to acquire the services of a new centre-back.
However, Forest were in a position on Thursday to announce that Milenkovic had arrived at the City Ground on a five-year contract.
Although a transfer fee has not been disclosed, Fabrizio Romano says that Forest have spent in the region of £12m on the Serbia international.

What will Milenkovic bring to Forest?
Milenkovic is perceived to be a guaranteed starter when fit, a consequence of the reputation that he has forged in seven years at Fiorentina.
A total of 17 goals and five assists came from 264 appearances in all competitions, with Milenkovic playing a key role in Fiorentina reaching the last two Europa Conference League finals.
As well as impressing for I Viola, Milenkovic has just started each of Serbia's three matches at Euro 2024, the backline conceding just twice in games with England, Slovenia and Denmark.
If Murillo remains at Forest, head coach Nuno Espirito Santo will likely partner the Brazilian with Milenkovic, the partnership having the potential to be formidable.
Willy Boly and Andrew Omobamidele are the other two central-defensive players who will compete for a starting role.
